The Embassy of Nepal in China organized an event titled ‘Facilitating Investments in Nepal: An Interaction with Chinese Business Enterprises’ in Beijing today. The participants in the program included more than 40 representatives from Chinese business enterprises, investors and the media.
In his keynote speech, Ambassador of Nepal to China H. E. Mr. Mahendra Bahadur Pandey shed light on the investment policies of Nepal, and invited Chinese enterprises to utilize the opportunities of the attractive investment potentials of Nepal. Recalling President Xi Jinping’s State Visit to Nepal in October 2019, Ambassador called on Chinese companies to tap Nepal’s huge potentials in infrastructure, hydropower, tourism, agriculture and ICT sectors. He said that Nepal’s enormous natural and human resources coupled with political stability, and excellent bilateral relations between the two countries make it the best time for Chinese enterprises to invest in Nepal. Ambassador Pandey expressed the confidence that economic exchanges between the two countries would further expand in the coming days, and contribute to economic growth and social progress in both countries.
Representatives of enterprises including Alibaba, AVIC-KDN Airport Engineering Company Ltd., Power China, China Gezhouba Group International Engineering Co., Ltd, China Energy Engineering Corporation Ltd. and Himalayan Airlines Ltd. shared their experiences while working in Nepal, and encouraged more Chinese companies to take advantage of the attractive investment opportunities available in the country. A Discussion Session was also held at the end of the program, where Ambassador and other embassy officials addressed the concerns raised by representatives of business enterprises.
Minister/DCM Sushil K Lamsal made welcome remarks, and Minister (Economic) Chhabindra Parajuli moderated the event.
